Dream, but... Wait, what?

Last night's dream: Playing 3D 16x16x16 Laser Chess with Ira Glass on Halloween night in a haunted mansion for the souls of fifty murdered people.

...See, at the time, this was a really horrifying dream! Except now that I'm awake...

A: I barely know who Ira Glass is, and he seems like kind of a nice guy, not so much a psycho murderer.
B: I don't know what 3D Laser Chess is, and I really doubt it involves plasma cannons and TRON-style effects.
C: Wow, that was a DARK dream. What the fuck, subconscious?
D: ... I have no idea about the proportions of that board. That sounds totally wrong.
and finally, E: The dream ALSO involved a dude with an adventure game hint guide telling me things like "Use the cross now." or "Okay, if you want an easter egg, you should unscrew the leg of the table and throw it out the window." None of this actually seemed possible in-dream. I think that dude had the wrong damn game.

So, uh... I am confused and woozy this morning.

I had a weird heavy dark dream last night too, where my Mom told me I was adopted. I wasn't though, I look way too much like my parents, and they've told me many graphic details about my birth.

A) Can't help you there, as I don't know who Ira Glass is.
B) Now this one...depends on just what you mean by 'Laser Chess'. There are Battlechess-like variants involving lasers, IIRC...and then there's a game that I can't remember the name of (though it might actually *be* Laser Chess) that involves placing mirrored elements in order to try to bounce a light beam into a target on the opponent's side of the board.
C) Can't help you there. Was this before or after I pointed you at the Terrible Secret Of Animal Crossing?
D) The 16-cube is definitely odd. 3D Chess versions that use a cubic are generally 8x8x8.
and E) Did that 'dude' happen to be vulpine in any way? That sounds like something I'd do in a screwed up dreamscape. :-)

Ira Glass is the host of NPR's popular weekly radio show This American Life. I'm not really sure how to describe it, they do interviews and play monologs and fiction readings and soforth. It runs heavily on Rule of Interesting, they don't make anything up, but they have a way of presenting things that makes them work and stuff they can't get to be compelling they don't put on the show.
