Toonstruck was an ambitious, wild, and brave project that tried to fly as close to the sun as possible and promptly plunged into the ocean. Starring a slew of cartoon voice actors giving their voices to animated characters and also Christopher Lloyd as a live-action animated character, this game really surprised me -- I had remembered it thinking it was far more clever than it was, and I came away surprised at just how clever it actually is.

Unfortunately it was split into two games, and the one that was released didn't sell quite so well, so we never got the rest of it. There's info about cut content all over the internet, but I wish it were in the game I bought.

I of course streamed it all on Twitch, and my Youtube archive of the streams are infested with copyright claims for all of the excellent cartoon music they used in-game. I hate this. I view these claims as cancerous time bombs, any of which could explode the moment the copyright owners decide they want more money and then there goes part of my historical archive, muted or taken down entirely. If they choose to escalate to a "Strike", it could take the channel and thus the rest of my archive down with it.

Unfortunately that's just how operating in the Internet era works. Nothing is yours, nothing is more than transient, even my Twitch streaming is just me doing unpaid advertising for an ungrateful corporate monolith who would prefer that I go die rather than bother them. Que sera, at least I'm having fun I suppose.

Toonstruck was one of my favorites back when it came out.

It sounds like a fascinating game.

All the copyright claims on everything are the province of robots doing things because the corporations have gotten the law written to presume guilt rather than having to prove it, so they can keep whatever tiny amount of revenue you might have received by showcasing a game to a wider audience. At least you're doing it for fun and not because you're trying to make a living on those streams.
