Recordkeeping: Toree 3D COMPLETE

xyzzysqrlThis morning I played through Toree 3D, which I think was on something called the "Haunted PS1 Demo Disc". I think the other games must've stolen all the ghosts, because at best this was perfectly innocent and at worst it had the moderate creeps. Like, it's not going to make photo-realistic skeletons pop out of your CD-ROM drive or anything. Some mildly weird shit happens but that's just a Playstation platformer thing.
The worst that happens is that sometimes you can see some rips in reality where you can see game code, and that's the creepiest thing to me. Not like haunted screeching blood goblins or anything, but the possibility that the game might drop to a shell and go "DEBUG MY ACTIONSCRIPT, MORTAL" and then I'd just instantly fucking die because you know what's ACTUALLY scary?

uh but like aside from that it's just a cute PS1 style speedrunner game. You're graded as you go through the levels and I kept getting C-ranks because I'm basic as hell. At first I thought it was an actual joke, like ha ha C-rank is the only rank there is, but I looked online and no actually there's for-real ranks above that and I just suck ass.
When you win by collecting all the stars, you unlock a flappy bat that can fly but his times don't count, you can't set a 25-second clear of a 3 minute level by just flippyflapping through, and that realization was the exact moment I lost interest in A-ranking the game.
Oh well.
