Lately I've been thinking about just wearing jumpsuits like all the time.
One piece outfit, nothing to slide down awkwardly. (I've been having problems with pants as my weight fluctuates, and I have like ... no hips so belts don't really work very well.) Varied colors. I don't care much about fashionable looks, but I do care about solid primary colors, so that suits me. I could look like Joel, Mike, Jonah, or Shinya Arino on demand.
Aside from the expense, is there any reason I shouldn't just buy like seven or eight jumpsuits and rotate one per day plus laundry as long as I can manage?
Where do you even GET jumpsuits, anyway?
(...is there a gender divide in jumpsuits? Are they gendered or unisex?)

Date: 2019-09-18 07:29 am (UTC)Given that the garment originates from parachuting, however, hence the name, I don't imagine that was how they started. I wonder if the same garments aren't now sold to males under a different name?
Also, the images I get when I google "jumpsuits" don't match the image the word conjures up in my head. Back when I mingled with people wearing a single garment that covered them from shoulder to ankle they were called "boiler suits" almost interchangeably with "jumpsuits". They tended to be made of a fairly robust material like denim (my wife had a black one made of needle cord) and were usually single color. Most if the images I'm getting now are floral patterned and look to be made of thin cotton or some silk analog.
Interesting question. Must do more research.

Date: 2019-09-18 09:54 am (UTC)Cross-country skiing in the winter, I use a thrift store pair of wool slacks a couple inches too big with suspenders as my outer shell. I'm out skiing, what do I care what others think? What I care about is keeping warm and wool remains warm even when wet. And I've got layers under it to keep warm thanks to going with a "baggier" size. The suspenders keeps it in place more easily with more give than if I use a belt.
