I Believe.

I feel the need to make a statement. It's a statement about my beliefs, about some things I believe very deep down inside myself. I've been called a loser, insane, an idiot, tasteless and other nasty things for some of these beliefs, but I want to share them anyway. I want to get them out there in the open because they're a great big part of how I look at the world.
I believe that heroes should be hot-blooded with a sense of justice, a little weird, and should have a great asset in their friends.
I believe that bright primary colors are the best kinds of colors, and there is no place they do not fit in.
I believe that being really good at video games is a viable job skill.
I believe that everything works better if you believe what you're doing with all your heart. If it isn't working then your soul just isn't passionate enough yet. It will come if you keep trying. Screaming helps sometimes.
I believe that the laws of physics can be ignored for effect.
I believe in making up really silly names for things. Because it's fun.
I believe that improbable things really ought to be more probable. Or at least happen more often.
I believe that there is no part of the body that should not fire missiles, or itself become a projectile weapon of some sort.
I believe that with courage, 10% can become 100%.
I believe that when things look darkest and all is lost, a great big upgrade is on its way if you just hang on.
I believe that if you put enough animals, vehicles and humanoids together in the proper ways, you will generate an unstoppable force of nature. There's always room to shuffle things around and add two or three more to the combination.
I believe in Mazin Power, Getta Rays, Ultramagnetic Energy. THE POWER, and Hypertronium.
I believe in super robot anime.
Thank you.

And Iron Kingdom has Super Robots in order to deal with the southern Kaiju threat.

Date: 2006-08-27 12:18 am (UTC)I believe that if a machine becomes an opposing force to something literally supernatural, it too ceases being a machine and becomes similarly unnatural.
I believe that bright primary colors are acceptable, but that grunts and mooks are better suited to wearing ugly browns, greens, and greys.
I also believe that being really good at video games is a viable job skill.
I believe that passion is a liability that only leads to trauma. Trauma, however, can be honed into a weapon in and of itself, making you an unstoppable bringer of death and destruction.
I believe that the laws of physics are subjective - if you want to say that you're powered by miniature black holes or the power of death itself, so be it. Likewise, if you want to technobabble about neutrinos and particle effects, that's okay too.
I believe in keeping an entire gun shop stashed in a backpack. Objects like swords, scythes, and staves of pure energy are acceptable too.
I believe that the only way to overcome your obstacles is to unload more live ammunition into them.
I believe that anything that is capable of firing missiles should have a disproportionate number of them, both in scale and in power. If it fits on my pinky finger, I expect at least five thermonuclear warheads to be stored inside.
I believe that if you're creative enough, anything can become a weapon. In addition, combining two weapons together will never yield anything less than a better, third weapon.
I believe that titanium spikes pneumatically driven by explosive charge are by far the most effective method of taking care of any adversary.
I believe that the only way to stop someone determined and persistent enough is to make sure they get emotionally attached to someone else. And then take out that someone else.
I believe in mass production of giant humanoid tanks for the purposes of war with minimal casualties, dramatic duels between opposing faction leaders in the inky blackness of space, and battleships big enough to hold enough Girl Scouts to give the universe enough cookies to last until the end of days.
I believe in real robot anime.

To which I can only reply: Swordchucks, yo. Swordchucks.
But ... whoa. Nice rebuttal.
