This happens to me every single summer, but I'm always surprised by it: I have been falling asleep way too often to put together an update. Even as I type these words I feel a heavy cloak fall across me and I tilt to one side, eyes closed and mouth open in a yawn. Whoever said hiberation was for the winter only? I'm active and alert in the winter.
Anyway, last time on SS:FF, basically this happened because it is time to have a contest and I was just plain not prepared. However now that an outfit's been assembled for myself and one for my close competition, it's time to hold a fashion show. (I thought this was supposed to be a blind thing, though? Maybe I misread.)

I WAS BORN READY that's a lie I have no idea what I'm doing. Still, it is time. Now is the time, and the time is now. So it's off to the Arena, and it's actually kind of nice to see that nobody else is very prepared either.

I mean, I laugh but this is a very real danger. Those lights are awfully bright. One wrong turn and it's straight into the crowd, and concussions just aren't ever in fashion. Callie is amused and dismissive though. "I'm on stage with you and I've done this dozens of times. Just watch me if you forget what to do." she offers.
"So why are your legs shaking too?" Sophie asks cheerfully.

It's good to know that this is the crew I'm with, for better or for worse. The show officially opens and I'm given the chance to revamp Ozma's hair, outfit and makeup one last time before going on-stage. Callie and Sophie, meanwhile, are already out and working it.

Then it's time for Ozma to hit the scene. Warning: This is screenshot hell because the game gives you a little minigame interface for posing and sparkling and shooting off flower-pedal effects (yes, for real) and I SPAMMED IT BECAUSE I AM GONNA BE QUEEN OF CUTE MOUNTAIN AND NOTHING WILL STOP ME.

How did it come out, in the end?

QUEEN OF CUTE MOUNTAIN.
Everyone's happy with Ozma's performance. Ricky is pumped that this means more shows. Rainbow congratulates Ozma on her hairstyle, while Noor...

...Well, Noor is just happy to have been here. She does kind of want to try out Ozma's outfit, though, which is an interesting and unforseen twist. And in the end, the biggest shocker of all...

Ricky CAN change pose and expression! Oh my god I thought he was a cardboard standee of David Tennant but he can MOVE AROUND! This changes everything. Sophie apparently had some kind of blackout and can't remember anything from when she was onstage, but Callie assures her that yes, she did walk in the right direction and wave at the right times. Callie conducted herself like a pro... and Ozma, of course, took the show home in a bag.
Which is fine, because according to Ricky the next show will be even bigger. Back at the shop, meanwhile, things like this start happening.

At this point we have basically free run to start designing outfits as we like, because the entire town trusts Ozma's sense of style. We've enthralled Beaumonde with our fashion witchery and become Queen Ozma of Cute Mountain, holding court out of Sophie's boutique.

Also, somehow Caprice Chalet just grew two extra rooms. (Ricky figures he put in for remodeling at some point.) Speaking of remodeling, we're allowed to change the outside of the building to anything we want. While I'm walking over there, it turns out I'm not the only one who takes pictures of random street people...

So of course I take a picture of her taking a picture of me. She vanishes again right away, so I don't know what her deal is. I'll probably find out later, but...
That's where I'm thinking of leaving off blogwise. We've seen the core gameplay loop of Style Savvy, we've seen some of the weird and wacky and wonderful interactions. We've become Queen Ozma of Cute Mountain and we've invigorated the town into a love of clothing. I'll probably keep giving little mini-updates, or more if there's great demand... but at this point, if you love what you've seen and you have a 3DS, pick the game up and give it a try! There's a whole world of new ideas waiting for you.
And if you're ever in Beaumonde, look me up...

...I'd love to see you around.

Date: 2016-08-28 12:46 am (UTC)I have no idea how the multiplayer works in this game, but I feel an overwhelming urge to hit you up in this game in whatever fashion (ha) it allows. Heck, maybe I can make something so attention-grabbing on my end that the sight of it gets into one of those theoretical future mini-updates. (Though you'll probably just look at the Barbie's Dream House world I've constructed like, "Yep, I figured.")
