What I want in a video game is unrealistic experiences. So... "drive a truck" is kind of mmh. "Create a trucking empire of ridiculously painted 18-wheelers singlehandedly while listening exclusively to Radio Gothic broadcast out of the Czech Republic?" Oh yeah I'll do that and I will grin like a maniac the whole time EVEN IF you ask me to obey traffic signals.

But I'm not talking about Euro Truck Simulator 2 right now, while it IS an excellent game. I'm talking about Deadly Premonition, which asks you to solve a quirky Twin Peaks style murder mystery WHILE also dealing with Silent Hill-esqe creatures AND managing your basic hunger, sleep, and cleanliness needs AND ALSO controlling an FBI agent whose partner and best friend lives in his head.

Like, that? I'm sold. And Deadly Premonition was awesome. Not so cool to transpeople, fat people, or, er, women in general... kind of a jerk to those at times. I related with York and Zach, the aforementioned agent and partner, though. I like those two. I'm glad how that worked out.

I'm sold enough to check out D4 - Dark Dreams Don't Die. Looking forward to that.

Also saw Mad Max: Fury Road. Really good movie. I... uh, spoiler maybe.

In a movie full of hypercompetent, effectual people I related strongest to Nux, who is handed the proverbial flag repeatedly and each time manages to fuck it up super hard, to the point where he's eventually just laying in a fetal position groaning about how many times he's fucked everything up. I know that guy. I may be that guy. I feel for him.

Also snagged a Fury Road miniposter on the way home. Our wall-art grows.
