Going to spend the early morning hours installing the Windows 10 preview.
Not enough stuff has gone weird or wrong in my life lately, and I want to see what this breaks. I'm EAGER to see what this breaks. My chaos frame has gone under-stimulated lately, so I'm grinning like a maniac at the idea of unleashing this new OS on Red Queen (my PC) and seeing how we react to it all.

[EDIT] Well that's a damn shame. NOTHING broke at ALL. Windows 10 actually seems really stable and compatible.

There's gotta be something here I can ruin.

Give it enough time, and if the natural problems don't come out, they'll introduce some in the form of new features and fixes.

Is the upgrade something that'll appear in Windows Update, or d'you need to snag it manually? I think I should qualify - the W7 VM I use for Windows development was upgraded from XP Pro to.. Enterprise, I think, courtesy of a cheap DVD from the Uni. I'll be interested to see how well I get along with 10 - 8 sounded acceptable, but I've had no real need for Windows recently. But new and shiny is always fun, especially when it's in a VM that can be dropped if things go horribly wrong. =:)

Mm, I must see if I can piggyback on rabitguy's iOS dev account, too - I'll be rather interested to see how Yosemite's successor shapes up, as well as iOS 9.

Windows 7 Enterprise is not eligible for the free update. (Enterprises should be able to afford their updates!)

The free program is intended for home users, so 7 Starter, 7 Home Basic, 7 Home Premium will get a free update to 10 Home, and 7 Pro and 7 Ultimate get an update to 10 Pro.
