SCENE: Nintendo are asleep on a pile of Wii Us.
Gamer: "...Nintendo. Nintendo, wake up."
Nintendo: "...chibirobo... mmh. Sstrtropics..."
Gamer: "NINTENDO. It's the peoples."
Nintendo: "Wait, the who?"
Gamer: "I mean, the players! They need your help! It's been too long since they had a number one jam! They been scrapin' Gears of Duty up off the Internets just to survive!"
Nintendo: "Aw, man... another number one jam!? ... all riiiight. I'll do it. For the players."

Nintendo proceeds to release Splatoon, and then fall asleep once more. Because really, Splatoon is the Perfect #1 Summer Jam of a game. Everyone is playing it, it's quick and stylish and has a short single player, they plan to support this super-toy all summer long with additional levels and game modes...

...And probably in a year it'll be completely forgotten by everyone, but such is the fate of multiplayer shooters in our rapid-fire times.

Good single-player mode, EXCELLENT final boss, but I can't help feeling like any team I join in multiplayer is going to be better off without me on it. So I'm probably not going to play this much in future.

Not sorry though. Had a good time, for the short burst it lasted.
