Sqrl, explaining why he is in despair: "So the new President of THQ basically sulked around going "Saint's Row 3... yeah, sure... but it wasn't Skyrim or Red Dead Redemption. Why not?" and now I'm a little worried about the fate of the sequel games."

Woof: "Actually... I agree with you. But I'm imagining a game that's like a cross between all three of those, and for some reason it just makes me think of Twilight Sparkle shouting "DRIVE US CLOSER, PINKIE PIE, I WANT TO HIT THEM WITH THIS SWORD!"

Sqrl: "...w-wow... I... might play that. Better than mine. I was imagining a game where you ride around on your motorhorse and then a knight in shining armor challenges you, so you shoot him with a chrome shotgun."

Woof: "Ah-ha. You basically want Painkiller, but with ridable mounts."

Sqrl: *open mouth* *close mouth* *open mouth* ... "Iaaaahhhhrum... ...y-ye... maybe? Yes?"

Woof: "Either way these won't get made."

Sqrl, Woof: *sad*

Yeahhhh. If he thinks THQ's problems come from Volition I don't feel good about the future of that company.

What bugs me is that Homeworld isn't on all of the things. Why isn't it on Steam or GOG? I really wanna play Homeworld, but never got to buy a copy when it was newish.

Relic's old publisher, Not THQ, owns the homeworld IP. I believe they're Sierra? Sierra went bankrupt, so I presume that means they got bought up by someone else, and I imagine whoever now holds the Homeworld IP is interested in little more than seeing Relic or its publisher pony up a hefty ransom.

Meanwhile Relic is busy churning out friggen awesome Warhammer 40k games, and I'm sure they're under some sort of contractual obligation to use said IP so often, or else loose it, which probably eats up a significant amount of dev time even if they were to do a non 40k game.

I'd love to see them turn Homeworld into the game that Eve Online's trailers want you to think that Eve Online is :D

Evil as it would be for them to do so Activision would certainly have the resources to make a new Homeworld game. There is such affection for that game, i wish someone would just do something.

I just don't want THQ to go under. Management issues aside, some pretty darn good games come out of there. And I'll be really sad if they crash and burn before Darksiders II comes out.
