Bookstore Haul
Sep. 21st, 2014 06:42 pmIt's the BF's birthday tomorrow, so as is traditional his parents gave him a couple bookstore gift cards and off we went. I get one, for some reason. It finally occurred to me to question this.
Woof: "I think they view you as like... I've equipped a familiar or some kind of adornment. Not so much a full actual party member. Just an accessory."
I can accept that. Anyway, off we went and came back with the traditional shedload of books.
Sqrl: "I'm getting more honest with myself, at least."
Woof: "Oh?"
Sqrl: "Previously I would sort of waffle around like... is this a book I want people to know I'm reading? Is this a book I'd admit to reading in public? Am I really sure about this? Now I just grab the damn book and go "Hm, police witch investigates magical drug. SOLD." and throw it in the bag."
Woof: "You're more honest about your tastes sucking."
Sqrl: "Absolutely."
So. Yes. Books. As usual you can probably tell which list is mine and which are his. (Hint: Weber is totally his.)
Off Armageddon Reef (Safehold, #1) - David Weber
By Schism Rent Asunder (Safehold, #2) - David Weber
A Mighty Fortress (Safehold, #4) - David Weber
Midst Toil and Tribulation (Safehold, #6) - David Weber (Series backfilling complete.)
Shadow of Freedom (Honorverse, #5) - David Weber
Magician: Master (The Riftwar Saga, #2) - Raymond E. Feist
Silverthorn (The Riftwar Saga, #3) - Raymond E. Feist
Legacy of Kings (The Magister Trilogy, #3) - C.S. Friedman
Captain Vorpatril's Alliance (Vorkosigan Saga, #15) - Lois McMaster Bujold
Changing the World: All-New Tales of Valdemar - Mercedes Lackey
Fortune's Pawn (Paradox, #1) - Rachel Bach
Alice in the Country of Hearts, Collected Vol. 2 - Quinrose
Alice in the Country of Hearts, Collected Vol. 3 - Quinrose
Black Ice (Midgard, #2) - Susan Krinard (Shit, this time I did it, what's book #1 again...)
Negima! Omnibus 2: Magister Negi Magi - Ken Akamatsu
The Cuckoo's Calling (Cormoran Strike, #1) - "Robert Galbraith"
Dirty Magic (Prospero's War #1) - Jaye Wells
Gideon Smith and the Brass Dragon (Gideon Smith #2) - David Barnett (again! My shame... also this is like the most stereotypical "Sqrl" book ever.)
Not a bad haul.
