...Say. As long as you're over here, maybe you can offer a bit of help. I've been eyeing an Xbox, because I clearly don't have enough to do gamewise. (Also because I've been looking at Crimson Skies and Panzer Dragoon Orta with deep heartfelt longing for the last year and a half or so, but that's beside the point.) Is a Live account worth maintaining even if I'm not going to use it that often, for game updates and whatnot? Are Live-only content updates common or frequently seen as required?

I know nothing of this console, so I'm a little baffled now that I'm starting to pick up interest.

A Live subscription is forty dollars a year. Yeah, go ahead and maintain it. Crimson Skies multiplayer alone is reportedly worth it.

I'll warn you now, though, that unless you have the fattest available broadband pipes, Live tends to lag some.

All online games lag to some degree, I've found. The question is really more player tolerance levels. I think I can handle it, but thanks for the heads-up. I was mostly concerned that it'd be a new and exciting way to meet complete asshats, but I've been convinced otherwise.
