I admit, I've largely been focused (still) on Final Fantasy XIV.
Unfortunately we're creeping towards the problem of "eight player content starts at level 49, we have seven people in the group so far, and we really don't want to end up with some Stereotypical HardCore Gamer who will "lol" and "n00b" at us and demand we skip all the story-rich cutscenes". So we're still recruiting, here on the Goblin Server.
All the launch issues have been smoothed out of the game, and what's left is a really, really good "traditional" RPG for those who like to take their time a bit and futz around. The crafting system is a lot of fun (if you like battling the random number generator), the battle system rewards steady, well-paced tactics and knowing what you're doing, and the whole thing has been a blast as "My First MMO", even though it is not my first MMO.
If you've never done group stuff in an MMO and dread the idea, don't worry. There are tutorials to help you learn how things work and what "your place" in the group is. And if you hate the idea of being "forced" into a role... well, you can change classes a lot. Be a healer one night, the tank the next, then take up stabbing people in the ass with a spear. Then help us cash in on the market boards. As you like!
The Captains of Industry (our Free Company/guild) is full of people who really just wanna have a good time, mess around, wax nostalgic in chat over other games we've played, snark at NPC fashion choices and bad names, wear bikinis, and fight giant monsters.
We are totally ready to pile so much gear on you that you will have trouble walking. (Also, the gear is not all bikinis. Everyone gets -real clothes-. In an MMO. I know, right?)
Also, we plan to buy a house. The housing trailer they released recently is -gorgeous-. Don't you want a Cactaur Lamp?
...Okay, so I might sound a little desperate and maybe I am. I'd rather be playing with you guys than with Jahn Pickupgruup der Assholen the VIIth.
So... if you like MMOs, er... give us a try maybe? Come join our system of elaborate co-dependence.

Date: 2013-09-25 08:50 pm (UTC)Actually, I've been meaning to give this game a try for a while now; this was just a lovely bit of added incentive. I've just installed the game today and gotten myself all set up. I'll probably take a little time to get used to things, but I'd love to meet up with you guys whenever!~

Date: 2013-09-26 12:52 am (UTC)We are all pretty friendly, and will helpfully take you into the "learn to party" tutorials which will teach you about working in a group and not sprinting face-first into monsters ahead of the tank and stuff. Also we will help you buy catgirl bikinis.
Is this your first MMO, or d'you have experience, is this your first MMO -with other people- ('cause it is mine), etc?
