So my PC's been bluescreening a lot lately. Like, a -lot- lately. Like three, four times a DAY a lot lately.

For a couple different reasons, too. The most recent said "Cache manager", but there's been IRQ errors and memory errors and video driver display errors.

There was a time back in my DOS days when I would've rolled up my sleeves and gotten down with the fixing, but I am older and I am quite tired and also quite lazy, so I'm not sure what to do anymore. I may wait until this becomes unfixable or too irritating to deal with, post via the BF's PC, and just pick up an off-rack replacement by selling organs until that becomes feasible.

So ... That's it, really. I'm worried. Dunno what to do there.

Are there diagnostic utilities you could use to try isolating the problem? (Memory, of course, comes to mind. So to speak)

Failing anything else, it couldn't hurt to simply reseat everything that can be - cards, SIMMs, CPU, etc. Well, okay, it could, if you keep hold of a VdG generator with one hand.

Well, you definately should be worried. What you're describing are pretty catastrohpic errors. Something in your computer is breaking, and it's probably going to be completely broken soon. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I've found these days it's usually a hard drive going bad.

If you run Scandisk it should find and correct what HDD errors it can find, but it's a short-term solution at best. If it finds no errors, though, then the problem may be with your RAM. Either one of those could cause the errors you're describing.

Anyways it's not good. If you can afford it, you could take it to a computer repair guy, or just get a new PC. If it is the hard drive or RAM though, they're replacable.

Well, THAT was unexpected. I'm glad it worked though! WTG!
