More Animal Crossing!
Early this morning, I woke up and checked the mail. On 7/1, Curt's having his birthday and I'm invited! Hooray! I will party with my favorite bear. I also got a gift from Phoebe, who stopped over to hang out. It's a mask? But I can't wear it. I take it inside and get the option to hang it on the wall, so I do and--
Phoebe, dear, you're a sweetheart but we need to talk about appropriate home furnishings. I'm not sure I'm keeping that. Speaking of wallhangings, though, there's something I've been wanting to try. I fiddle with the PC's router a little, then cheerfully trot out to the post office. I'm doing this early, so if I get called on this nobody sees my walk of shame home.
However... it actually works!
SUCCESS! Now they can BOTH watch me sleep. Wow, this was a terrible idea.
Then I go off to get some real sleep. So zzz. This is all posted after that, however, so no time will pass now. Isn't that lovely? Mmm?
Anyway, when I wake up again it's mid-morning and stuff is open. I start off by trotting down to the Sisters. A couple friends of mine have put in an outfit request, and I'll be taking those in the order they come. Today's outfit is a bit hard to see in stills, but it's...
A cuddly, fuzzy outfit based on the pokemon Arcanine! ... This is not really summerwear, but then again, Arcanine's a fire type and can probably take the heat.
I swing next door to Tim-a-Tommy's, only to find that they're... going out of business?!
No, it turns out they're just shutting the store down to remodel. They're going to become an even better store! The best store! ... Will they? We will find out. But why would they be closing? Who bought those spare tools? The answer becomes clear as I check the town and find...
...The town has become infested with Woofs. Oh dear, there goes the neighborhood. We'll have to nuke the site from orbit. Bye everybody! (Ahahaha I am kidding I love my woof and I hope he does not kill me in my sleep.)
This is a feature that's been in Animal Crossing from the very beginning. Up to four real, physical people can share a town, living together. Since we live together in reality, we are naturally living together in fiction as well. I doubt he'll be blogging, so we won't be seeing much of him, but I'm glad he's present. Makes the place feel more lived in.
Of course, it also means y'all won't see ALL the fossils and so on anymore... but eh, we'll still hit the museum now and then to see what he's fronted up.
I check Reese for the Turnip prices: She's buying them today for 90 bells. Pass. I water the flowers. Teddy wants some new furniture, so I pass him a candle I got as a reward for uh -something- I forget what. He passes back a "Mini Circuit" in return. What? Maybe it'll go with my server?
Ohhhhh. Mini CIRCUIT. Maybe not.
Cute though. I stuff it in storage. Am I really craving a bigger place already? Oh Nook, thou art a harsh mistress. Master. Whichever. Prrrobably a guy, tanuki have a reputation. Let's keep moving before this line of thought goes anywhere. Yes, I know there's fanart. Shut up.

His name is Phineas, and he's really into NATURE... but mostly he's into JUDGING PEOPLE, so apparently Tumblr has arrived in my town. He's a badge-giver, he gives out badges for achievements. ... Okay, confession time, WHO at Nintendo dropped the ball on making this dude a BADGER? Eh? Eeeeehhh? ... No? Meh.
Anyway, he can "tell what I've done and tell how good I've been" from just one look! (Unless this dude is secretly Santa, that is a power I am deeply uncomfortable with.) He turns his Gaze of Analysis on me and does a scan. Then he tells me that badges are worn on my Town Pass Card, and passes one over.
This was probably inevitable!
Oh my god, have I really caught half the fish in the game ALREADY? I chat him up again but there's a one-badge-a-day limit.
I check in with Lloid too, only to find that SOMEONE has donated the extra thousand or so bells to Lloid that I needed to finish the Bridge project. Away to town hall I go. Isabelle confirms we're done here...
...And suggests I take the rest of the day off. Ah, the two hour work week, mankind's dream within a dream. With official permission from my secretary to poot around town, I spend a while just walking around enjoying the day. I chat up some of the villagers...
...replant my bananas and pears to make sure they spread around some, get given some clothes as a reward, before I can even LOOK at the clothes Phoebe runs up and trades something for them.
A space station?! Phoebe dear, you're a sweetheart AND THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME.
...yeah I'm gonna need a bigger house... And elect to call it a day.
Tomorrow's gonna be even better!
As a special note: I've ALMOST worked up the nerve to start doing multiplayer. I'm still trying to decide if it's okay if I post multiplayer screens here, or even if I -want- to do that, so ... just as a note of coming attractions, eh?
