Right. So I was gonna drop in on the Nookspores, the Ables, and try to get a chat in with the townies sometime before everyone falls asleep. Let's get on that.

Hanging around at the Able Sisters, I see Ozzie, who has picked up the habit of quacking from Mallary. Where IS Mallary, anyway? It's really hard to find villagers nowadays. Anyway, I pick up a nice dress that's on sale and chat with Sable, who sunnily thanks me for making their shop my favorite in town.

Ahahaha that's adorable. Sable flails a bit at this (which is ALSO adorable) and Mabel notes that she starts wondering this even before the store opens in the morning. Sable huffs and explains that all this sewing makes her back and shoulders hurt, so she needs a post-work massage, Luckily, Mabel's around! Mabel instantly starts groaning about her aching feet and back... but she's just winding her sister up. Again.

God. These two.

Meanwhile at Nook's, I grab the daily fortune:

Timtom explains that I am not a winner, but I should take a Regal Bed as a consolation prize. Y'all may recall that I rejected the Regal Bed a while back in favor of a steel-and-black number, but in this case... It fits in nicely with my bedroom as it is now.

So I'll be keeping that for a while.

Let's make the rounds of the village. Ozzie I've talked to. Mallary I find out by the cliff. She explains that she prefers to come out at night because it helps her avoid UV rays from direct sunlight. Well okay then. Curt wants some fruit, so I give him one of Adoravil's ubiquitous oranges and he gives me a "robo-chair". Cool.

Bertha is lounging at home, and has a special request for me. She's always wanted... a shark. She's heard I can obtain them. Could I possibly -- Why yes, Bertha. For you? Of course. That might have to wait until tomorrow though.

You don't ask for the small things, do you, Bertha?

I find Klaus outside. I make sure he's looking at me, then slowly walk straight past without bothering to talk to him. Hopefully he'll get the message. Teddy doesn't have much to say, so it's off to see if Phoebe is home. She isn't, and neither is Pompom. Huh, where could they be? I head back up to Main Street and start checking the shops and museum. Pompom is hanging out in the empty art room, claiming she enjoys being surrounded by culture. I'm not sure if she's ditzy or just dada.

Phoebe, meanwhile, appeared once to tell me she moved into town, and has been completely unfindable since. I'm starting to wonder about that girl.

Oh well. Today's fossil run: Two T-rex tails and an Apato skull. One of the tails goes to the museum, the other is sold at market to fund the bridge-building project. I also take the robo-chair home and plop it down.

Tomorrow's goal: Finding Phoebe. I'm worried she'll move away and I'll only have seen her once! The phoenix must rise!

That kinda looks like the chair from Total Recall. Don't sit in it or the lines between reality and fantasy will get blurry.
