Aren't I forgetting something? Uh.
Oh crudbanana, in my fishing-induced haze I completely forgot to ACTUALLY DO my goddamn job. Isabelle wanted to meet me for a lecture about how to be a Mayor and stuff. Uh... let's load the game back up and run over there real quick.
Happily, Isabelle is at least as disorganized as I am.

.... Hey, Isabelle, where do you even live? You don't have a house in the village. Do you just crawl into one of these filing cabinets or what? She goes on to insist that I not tell her brother -- wait what -- about this. She never lets him into her bedroom because of the box situation.
I'm kind of curious, but she quickly gets back down to business. When she's standing at her desk, she can provide certain services. She can tell me about citizen satisfaction, or she can change the flag or town tune. For that kind of thing, I need to approach her from the counter like anyone else in town would. By the way, current polls indicate the townies want more plants around town. Next, my mayorial duties inc--

OH GOD WHAT WHAT DID I BREAK SOMETHING
... Oh. I need a Town Development Permit. More paperwork, but we're gonna pitch in and get through this together. Man, she sounds... frazzled. She assures me I don't need to worry about her, because she got almost a whole HOUR of sleep last night. Oh well okay then. Anyway, I am now allowed to sit in the Big Chair. I go plunk down, and Isabelle reacts like I just walked in.

Okay. How do I get into this whole town development business? Step one: OWN A HOUSE. I need to officially have a house built before I can work on my permit. Okay, well, that's coming tomorrow. Step two: APPROVAL RATING. I need to work on improving the lives of everyone in town so they'll be happy and want me to play with their living situations. Currently, I am at... drum roll...

...Ow. I need a 100 percent approval rating to get things rolling, so... ...hoo boy. Okay. I'll deal with that tomorrow. Anyway, those are the steps. Approval, house. One is taken care of. The other... not so much. Well, I know one way to boost my approval with a certain someone.
"Dear Bertha,
I'm gonna need you to boost my approval rating.
In return, I will sign you up for my mailing list.
-- From Sqrl."
That oughta get her on my side. I swing by the post office and make that official.

I also swing by the town board and post some blatant propaganda.

I'll worry about doing more later. All this campaigning and... fishing... takes it out of a sqrl. Zzz.

And have you seen his secretary? She looks like she hasn't slept properly in weeks! He must be slacking around letting her do all the work.I better get a letter soon or I'm moving to Canada."
