I present to you, without comment, a conversation
sirkalen and I had over lunch.
Sqrl: I really should resume Legaia coverage.
Woof: Yes. You should.
Sqrl: Mmmh. *eats idly* I wonder what we'll end up naming the big buff old martial arts guy.
Wuff: *in definitive tones* Mr. T.
Sqrl: *sputters* I... was thinking something more in line with the Chesty's Angels motif...
Wuffenburger: Yes, but it can be Mr. T and Chesty's Angels, right?
Sqrl: *still on the Angels idea* ...like... I can name him Flower or something. I'll probably put it to a vote.
Woofelman: Well, maybe... I dunno...
Sqrl: I'll name him Mr. *HeartSymbol*! Yeah! ... Or, like... Heart Heart Angel.
Senator from Woofsylvania: Uhm. That makes me think of TenderHeart Care Bear or something. Only a six foot three heavily muscled kung-fu Care Bear that KICKS YOUR ASS.
Sqrl: If the Care Bears had been six feet tall and buff, I would have felt WAY different about them.
Wolfiepie: *eating, nods agreeably*
Sqrl: ...Of course, I had this... love/hate thing about care bears as a kid.
Woob: *looks curiously at*
Sqrl: Well... like... on the hate side, "Eeek! Small cute pink bear with a mind control ray!" And on the love side, "Mmm, small cute pink bear with a mind control ray. Mmmmm." So when the raccoony care bear cousin got involved... Mmm lots, y'know.
Wulf, tactfully ignoring this: So every time he -glares- at Chesty for being an idiot... CARE BEAR STARE!
Sqrl, absently and thoughtful: Wasn't TenderHeart the -horse- one from the movie?
Wuub: ...
Sqrl: Yeah, okay, I've shared too much.

Date: 2004-09-24 11:52 am (UTC)...sigh. I'd like 'em back, kind of. They were -so- cute...
Also, now I am curious about detail, but not curious enough to ask in public. This is one of those things I'll have to ask if I ever see you elsewhere online.

Date: 2004-09-24 12:26 pm (UTC)Though as long as we're recalling the movies, didn't the Cousins have entirely different origins between the first two movies? As I recall they stumbled upon them while doing something-or-other in the first movie, but in the second movie they came to Carealot with the bears in their infancy.
