Okay, here's how it's been going down: There's this game I'm playing, Guild Wars 2.

It's pretty obscure. I haven't mentioned it much. You probably haven't heard of it.

This game accepts custom music playlists. I've been using a blend of random songs I really like that I threw together more or less at the last minute. I'm LOVING it, and all of this really seems to be working well for me, but I'd love to take suggestions as well. (Actual MP3 links/filesends to my gmail are even better.) Right now, though, here is what I'm running with.

Each playlist is titled as it MUST be titled to get the game to play it, with my thoughts in slantyletters alongside.

Ambient (light, cheerful or introspective exploration music, this is the default playlist for walking around during the daytime)

Zelda II Overworld Theme I always liked this just as much as the "default" Zelda music.
Yuki Kajiura - Where the Sky Is High This is the first .hack/sign track on the list. Not the last.
Yasunori Mitsuda - Dreamwatch of Time These drums just make me want to get out there and discover the hell outta something.
Wolfstone - Heart and Soul Kind of an unconventional pick, but for the pastoral human-occupied lands, this one just makes sense.
Wolf's Rain - Stray There are no story choices for the Charr which take you down the route of a gladium, or houseless outcast. But you do rather COLLECT them, if you play your cards right.
Skaven - Bejeweled 2 Theme Not the full suite, but this is a slow, thoughtful track that still manages a sense of wonder. Odd for a game about gem-shuffling. God I love the Bejeweled music.
Tenchi Muyo! - I'm a Pioneer I refuse to apologize for this. My god I love this song. SPIRIT OF EXPLORATION HOOOO
Tenchi Muyo! - Talent for Love This I have no excuse or explanation for. I just like it.
Temple of Time Techno Mix From some forgotten forum somewhere. Groovy.
Tales of Eternia - Glimmer Spire Also known as the Theme to Legend of Valkyrie, a semi-forgotten Namco arcade game. I want to marry this song.
Limahl - Never Ending Story Theme Aaa-aaa-aaa-aah aaa-aaa-aaa-aah.
Lisa Lougheed - Run With Us Yes, the theme to the Raccoons. This is really where I started thinking of this as the Adventure And Exploration Playlist.
Paprika - The Girl In Byakkoya Again, I have no excuse here. Bouncy, 'get out there and look around' music for a dream in progress.
Nobuo Uematsu - Rydia (Celtic Moon ver.) Look, it can't always be high-energy.
Nobuo Uematsu - Prelude (Pray Vocal ver.) Sometimes natural beauty and wonder needs a vocal choir to make it -really- shine.
Nobuo Uematsu - Promised Land (Pray Vocal ver.) ...yes, for real. I like it, okay.
Kiki's Delivery Service - I'm Gonna Fly We're swinging back towards optimism and happiness here.
Harajuku - Colors of the Wind That's too happy, that's TOO HAPPY, PULL UP, PULL UP...!!
FLCL - Ride On Shooting Star Yet again... I have no excuse here.
Faun - Unda Just enjoy having the band stare at you while you listen to this. "The wave reaches you, and pulls you down into the depths. And you are the wave."
Guilty Gear XX - Blue Water Blue Sky For all those piratey sorts of zones!
Animalympics - ZOO Now we're getting obscure. My version sounds a little better than this, but you get the idea.

Faun - Von den Elben More from this German pagan band. I have no idea what this song means. Something wildly inappropriate I bet. Pretty though.
Zazie - Sous Le Voile A french song. About Algeria. ... uhm. Shut up. Listen to the nice French lady with the sweet voice.
Yuki Kajiura - Valley of Mist I told you .hack was showing up again.
Wolfstone - La Grand Nuit du Port de Peche I could only find a live version of this one.
Jay Semko - Due South Theme Sometimes it's cold, you're a long way from anywhere, and all you can do is pick a direction and walk. By the way, WATCH THIS SHOW IT'S FANTASTIC.

This is the first time anyone's ever posted a music playlist that I've actually wanted to dig through. I recognise so much of what's in tehre that I have a basis for knowing that the rest is going to be PERFECT.

Pity I can't find a full length rendition of "Viens Vers Nous", the French version of "Run With Us".

Also: Animalympics, VERY YES. And ELO's "Twilight". And all the TRON. And... damn it, just everything. You are awesome, and we should swap music sometime.

This is remarkably convenient, because I was just all, "I want to listen to some music on YouTube, but what shall I listen to?" and the SQRL provides. <3

I notice it's yet another game without flight music. Geez. You'd think they'd have figured that out by now. :P

You wouldn't go wrong adding a bit of Ragnarok Online music in there. That game had some fantastic joyful adventure music.
