I had a nightmare last night which made me twitch violently, and when I say last night I really mean the night before last, because I have not yet slept. In this nightmare I was idly brushing my teeth in front of the mirror in the bathroom and suddenly stopped, seeing a small hole in one of my teeth. "Huh." I said to myself. "That looks bad." So I reached out and gently poked it with my finger. Then I scratched at it. Then I hooked my fingernail and pulled, and with a disgusting 'slrrp-POP' out came the tooth. I stared at it for a while, horrified at myself and what I'd just done, then reached into my mouth again and pulled another tooth, to reassure myself it had been a fluke.

'Slrrp-POP'.

I twitched. Then did it again. And again, quietly popping out my teeth in a mixture of disgust and facination.

I woke up shuddering and groping at my mouth to be sure it was, y'know, full of teethy goodness.

I won't sleep well today either. I'm going to go to sleep after I finish this entry, but I won't sleep because my legs are sore as all hell. The reason for this is the epic walk, at least two and a half miles, the wolf and I took to the video store to return the movies we rented. (And we picked up R-Type Final as a PS2 rental, along with Blade Runner (the DVD director's cut, which I can't like anywhere near as much as the Harrison Ford voice-over version). I learned a lot doing that walk. One is that I -am- a big fat out of shape lump, but interestingly, I didn't get anywhere near as winded as I thought I would. I have really good stamina, and I walked the entire length without -too- much trouble, except that my ankles kept freezing up and I ended up limping painfully. So I'm not low-endurance, exactly... the pain was mostly in my lower legs, which do not appear to HAVE muscles and therefore are just bone wrapped in skin and some flesh, and the top of my thighs where I developed a painful sweat rash which will make me scream for hours when I roll over onto it in the middle of trying to sleep.

Which is why I won't sleep well.

I am kind of proud of myself for walking all that way though. Let's hope my legs don't seize up into uselessness tomorrow when I wake up, or the blisters don't keep me from moving.

In spite of all of this, though... I've been in a SERIOUSLY fantastic mood, these last few days. There's a weight off my soul, I find, after having a conversation with someone that revealed I was seeing some things in an entirely wrong light. Feels good to have that cleared up.

Anyway. Ow. Bed now.

Gross!

I got that one beat. (Though I've had that dream too! A lot of my nightmares involve teeth).

Okay, ready?

Last night I dreamt that I was in the "Halloween" movie. Michael Myers had tried to kill me with a huge chunk of wood with a spike in it... But rather than dying, the spike went right through and into my mouth but I was still alive! So for some reason the family I was with were arguing over whether or not they should take me to the hospital... I think because they were sure he was lurking outside the door, waiting to kill them as soon as they left the house.

So, getting annoyed at this spike inside my mouth, I pulled the wood out of my head and promptly wound up spraying blood all over the kitchen table and everywhere else. Mmm. Tasty.

So, yeah. There you go. Oh yeah. He WAS waiting outside as well. I think he killed everyone but me. I guess he figured I was gonna bleed to death or something...

So there you go. My gross contribution for today!

Dreams about tooth loss are so common they're in dream-analysis books. Scary, innit? :)

I occasionally "shed" my teeth in dreams, a' la sharks. They fall out but I'm just awake enough to feel for them in RL with my tongue and so they're still there...and I get all puzzled, and end up with a handful of teeth.

I really should build a dream piano....

Icky. At least the dream didn't involve the trip to the dentist afterwards, eh?

And c'mon... we all know the REAL reason your 'legs' are sore.... *grins*

More seriously, though, I do enjoy to walk myself, despite being horribly horribly out of shape myself. And strangely enough, I also have weak ankles; they like to twist in odd directions at moment's notice. If you're anything like me, tomorrow walking will be rather painful, but not impossible. Have fun! :)

Augh, sqrl! I've had similar dreams, though. They just make your skin crawl, don't they?

Good for you with the walking! It's a great boost to the day. It's fantastic to be wildly out of shape and still be able to enjoy some kind of hearty excersize, because walking is so mild. And you can see things! Not like running a treadmill. I'll never understand how the kishi can workout in gyms three times a week. *shake head*

I hear you on the ankles, too, although it's usually my left hip and both my knees that suffer! I am such a lazy bum. ^__^

Whoa.

I also recently had a dream where I lost teeth. I woke up and really thought they might be on my pillow or something.

Not fun. Especially since I hate the sight of blood (especially on my pillow, thank you very much) and couldn't imagine that that sort of thing wouldn't lead to lots of it.
