Personal ultimatum.
Jun. 28th, 2011 03:36 amI've been really depressed lately (really need to get that looked at by a professional) and I've been spending way too much on stuff to make myself feel better. I'm dropping this in my journal as a personal reminder to just... freeze impulse spending until roughly November.
Stop buying trivial things for a while, sqrl. It will only make you feel bad -later- instead of right now.
Besides, all the good stuff comes out later in the year. Save now, buy later.

--dang bunni (who doesn't have any useful advice other than perhaps 'make a big cup of iced tea'. Because iced tea is yummy.)

Date: 2011-06-28 01:57 pm (UTC)I know the feeling. Sometimes when I'm feeling like retail therapy is all I have, I remind myself that when you get right down to it, all that stuff is just atoms and bits. And atoms and bits, while shiny and fun, are insufficient to make me truly feel good.
Although I would buy a truckload of a cereal called "Atoms N' Bits." Now with shimmery marshmallow trinket clusters! o_O

P.S. Have you seen or tried that Myst-esque little beta, Kairo?

Date: 2011-06-28 09:24 pm (UTC)Yeah, at least buying stuff has given me games to work on. If I can't have fun with giant robots, I am actually -legally dead- and you can just start the paperwork.

Date: 2011-06-28 10:35 pm (UTC)... perhaps some Lego, as well... might need to make a 1:1 scale model, first.
