Dreams on Livejournal.
Jun. 14th, 2011 11:17 pmIt is increasingly hard to come up with titles for these dream logs I haven't used before.
Okay. So this one was odd. I was dreaming, as I kept telling people in the dream, about watching a super robot show where the robot loses. Something like Dungirigizer. The idea was that the "Red" dude in a typical five-man robot team was the only survivor of the first alien attack, and was left wandering the post apocalyptic planet encountering other survivors. There was a pretty deep metaplot about a scientific organization that was trying to put together a comeback. Occasionally the red guy would form power armor out of nowhere, or fight off a wave of aliens barehanded, and everyone else would agree "This is why he will always be our last and only hope." in a very ritualized, catch-phrasey way.
Mostly I remember the last "episode", where he gets a robot formed and goes off into space... and ends up self-destructing, taking himself, the alien armada, and the entire planet with him. Then there was a very Eva-esqe "Meet again in the afterlife, congratulations you did the right thing" sort of scene.
After that lovely conclusion, I apparently decided to play a card game with ... whoever my friends were in my dream. You started with one card. The other cards were spread on the table. You'd ask go-fish style if one of the cards was in another person's hand, then when it wasn't, you'd flip a card over on the table.
That seemed to be the entire game. Nobody ever actually got any more cards for any reason. I'll be damned if I know how that one was supposed to work.
