Today, while attempting to get Amazon to accept a promotional $10 off code and end up not paying a fortune, I described a situation --

A situation wherein a book is $13, minus ten dollars, and a second book is $2, and then you add the shipping charges on and the entire thing becomes $20 somehow --

I described this situation, while flailing my arms and facing the ceiling, as "Fuckshitulous."

This caused the boyfriend to laugh so hard he turned purple.

There are times, I am ashamed to admit, when I am not as grateful as I might be for the fact that I am incredibly amusing to all around me.

I am also sad that I will not be receiving any books about dragons or insect relationships from my Amazon wishlist, but that is really a minor concern.

What is it with redeeming gift codes or coupons on the internet. Its like the big retailers have the attitude that its easy to put out such discounts because their customers cant argue to anyone in person when the billing form processes the "wrong" price.

*snickers* mightily at the word-coining*
I hate to say it, though but...did you check what the shipping was? Granted, you're maybe not hitting the levels of rediculousness that an importer like HLJ has ($20 dollar model, with $25 s&h, whee!), but...
If it's not the s&h, sounds like either it just plain didn't take the coupon, or maybe whatever deal made the second book $2 conflicted?

Giga...Pudding. That sounds like either a giant monster fought by people not-so-well-covered in spandex, or the attack used against such a monster.

Annoying, but I think shipping price shenanigans are still better than (non-instant) rebates on tech products. At least you can see the shipping costs up front, and know you are going to be out that money. With rebates, you get teased with the idea that you will actually be getting money back, and end up gambling that the manufacturer will honor the rebate.

I can't recall ever having a computer-related rebate honored.

As for Giga Pudding, do you mean this Giga Pudding?
