Meme 1, Day 14: A game that no one would expect you to love -

Man, I hope ... I really hope, honestly... that no one expects me to do anything BUT love games. I want it to be a rare shock when I DON'T love something. I genuinely try to embrace everything, to be honest. I -want- to embrace everything, to love everything. It feels good.

One thing I will admit to notoriously not loving is real time strategy games, however. Except for one big pair of exceptions:

Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth II: Soulblighter.

These are exactly the opposite of what I look for in games. Real time strategy with a grim, dark, depressing fantasy atmosphere. The thing is, the writing is good. The thing is, there's very nice terrain deformation and PHYSICS. The thing is, it's small-unit tactics: No tedious army-building, do what you can with what you have. The thing is, I've finished these games several times and loved 'em.

I don't know why, but I do. Maybe it's Bungie's touch. They seem to turn everything to gold.

I knew you liked the Myth games, you've mentioned them before. I don't remember you ever saying you didn't like RTS games before, though. Mind, there haven't been a lot of them that were noteworthy in the last decade so I guess there wasn't much reason to ask.
