The cut-rate, jet-black pointy-hood-and-mask outfits certainly LOOK like it, anyway...
It really is. Gave me mild cognitive dissonance through the entire episode, though. I kept expecting V3 to show up and Rider Kick one through a hail of bullets.
I was prepared to write it off as coincidence, but then I saw that Hideki Anno, well known Kamen Rider fan, directed the series. Still, as you say, incredibly popular 'look'.
You want cognative dissonance? When you say *Destrons*, I'm possibly getting entirely different mental image than you are, and I'm wondering why the giant robot who turns into a gun/tank/Barney/whatever is hanging out with Masked Rider... ;-)
