Legend of Galactic Heroes movies 1 and 2.

...whoa. Wow. That was the most tactically dense... It was like watching an animated story of the Honor Harrington universe, complete with Backstabbing Admirals, Sympathetic Opposite Sides, etc...

Looking forward to tackling the 110 episode series.

As someone who plays a lot of strategy games, I really appreciate this show/movie/story as.. well, as an example of something in which the meat of things - to wit, the strategic planning - actually MAKES SENSE. It feels oddly good to look at a battle map and go "well, why don't they.." *explain* .. and then un-pause the video and that's EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS. It's a nice change from battles in which everyone acts like they've never GONE to military school.

It also makes me feel good for recognizing those opportunities, which is always nice.
