Weekend Away!

Oh god, he's still coming... I can't believe this, man... Took down Fox without breaking stride... I've hit him with EVERYTHING, man! Bombs, guns... Emptied the laser at him and THREW the damned thing and... and he's STILL COMING, it didn't STOP him, NOTHING'S GONNA... HE'S HERE! HE'S... OH GOD NO YOU CAN'T--!"
"PIKA PIKA-CHUUU!"
...and, quietly, the world ends.
Playing Super Smash Brothers Melee with a pair of handicap level-1 humans VS two handicap level-8 CPU players is a bit of a rush, let me tell you.
So the Big Weekend Off did indeed degenerate into a frenzy of gaming and play, as was widely expected and hoped for. Lots and lots of assorted board and card games. (Including my first ever game of Heroclix, in which it was proven that The Incredible Hulk -can- in fact take out Batman with a bit of luck on his side. Dratted wolves and their strategies.)
Highlights include:
- Chrononauts, in which Archduke Ferdinand was assasinated, revived, shot again, zombified, hit with a steamroller, and STILL came back to life with a handy reversal card just in time to cement the timeline in the proper orientation for a won game. If you think that's bad, you should've seen the battle over the Mona Lisa. ("It Never Existed." "I Rewind and make sure it does." "I got a Memo from my Future Self that you'd be doing that, and I'm stopping you." "...fine, I'm Fast Forwarding for double-actions, going back in time and blowing up Sputnik." "HEY!" "And killing Ferdinand." "Bitch.")
- Heroclix. In general. Fun game. I need more pieces. ("...so this team has TWO Blades. One is time travelling." *later* "...and then Blade gets punched through the wall at 300 MPH. Six knockback squares." "Emergency backup Blade, away!")
- Just... hanging out in general and having fun. Putzing about with old video games, playing the old Lone Wolf game books (more on those later), feeling good about life. MeatWorld (TM) offers -SOME- possiblities after all. Even if we do need to go shopping.
Expect me online more as soon as we get to calling the Comcast billing department to poke them in the head.
