Survive Seek Evade Evade Reveal Behold!
Aug. 26th, 2006 06:36 amSo holy crap. Today I submitted my first review in, uh... let's see, seven months to WorthPlaying. (No, it isn't up yet. Wait a bit.) May I just tell you all that it feels really good to not be broken anymore? What's more, I think I worked out exactly where I went wrong. I fell into what I am calling Piro's Trap.
If you're not familiar with Piro/Megatokyo, the essence of it is this:
Creator does something.
Creator observes the thing they have made.
Creator says "This could be better, but I guess it doesn't suck."
Creator uploads.
Creator makes next piece.
Creator observes it. "This... isn't as good as what I did before. I'll have to make the next one lots better."
Next piece.
"Oh my god. This sucks. I'm getting worse. What the hell is wrong with me? I suck. Why am I even bothering with this crap?"
Repeat until urge to work in chosen field is completely gone. ... Oh. Yeah, also there was a metric arseload of stress thanks to the whole apartment thing. Mix the two together and you have BURNOUT. And not the fun Xbox kind. I think I'm gonna have to be very careful with my ego and my self-esteem. It's been wonky and easy to break, and I know that. I have to be sure I remember that I'm not as bad as I think I am.
Anyway. I feel like doing one of these fandom question things, just to remind myself that I'm still IN various fandoms. Just not any of the popular ones. So, you folks willing to help out?
Meme text starts--
1) Make a list of 20 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)
2) Ask your friends list to postthree some questions about the list in the comments.
For example:
"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"
3) After your list has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 20 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.

Make 'em wacky, make 'em fun, but don't be surprised if my head explodes. (Also, by 'characters' they mean TV/Novel/Game/Anime/Etc characters. I know some folk who would think RP characters by default.)
