This just in:
Reliable sources have always claimed that space is, in fact, big. Really big (and so on). However, the new definition of planets has added Planet Ceres, Planet Charon, and Planet Xena to the previous planets in our solar system. Thus, not only is space big, but it is now open. Open, that is, for aspiring fanfiction writers to add a small handful of new senshi to the Sailor Scouts. I personally am looking forward to the no-doubt hilarious characterization of Sailor Xena.
I predict this hole will be filled in... *click stopwatch* Right about now.
In part to celebrate this nifty space-related news and in part because I'm a big sucker for classic space-race nostalgia, I sat and watched The Dish last night. I really quite enjoyed it. Patrick Warburton is -not- my first choice for a serious dramatic role... which is okay, because this isn't as serious and dramatic a movie as everyone in the movie seems to feel it should be. A lighthearted and gentle comedy about all the stuff that CAN go wrong and will go wrong when the small-town human experience meets up with The Big Picture of science. I really liked this film a lot, it might be among my top five movies. Admittedly it's not for everyone.
I've been getting back into a writing mood, not that you can tell from this entry. That might have interesting effects on what happens soon with me. Stay tuned.
