Okay. So this is not a 100% sure thing, but...

I am Interested in a game that is about to be sold on Steam, called Borderlands. I'm really interested in it, because it is space-cowboy, dirt-futuristic Diablo with randomly generated guns and I am a massive slut for randomly generated things. The idea is that you choose one of four specialized characters and roam the wastes, killing things for items and guns. Also you can drive around in a cart. There is a trailer.

Right now they're offering a four-pack over on Steam. This costs roughly $135. Normally the game costs $45, roughly.

Therefore this is a savings of ... some number! The boyfriend assures me it is like $11 per copy! I am bad at math! Someone on GameFAQs claims this makes it $34 a copy!

Anyway. You (or rather, I) can buy the four pack and then share it out among your (my) friends, like an old-school baron doling out the railroads.

(Maybe that's Monopoly.)

I'm curious: Would any three of you out there be interested in dividing the price up into four shares, buying the four pack, and sharing in the savings or whatever? With possible multiplayer, maybe, in future? I will apparently need nothing but A: Your interest, B: Your money, and C: Your Steam account name. A minor set of things!

You wait, mostly. If other people are all like YAY then I will start collecting money via Paypal or something and then preorder and gift the game to people's Steam accounts.

I think that is how this works. I should research. Right now it's just a vague impulse.

Looking on steam I see this four pack thing costs $134 and I'm like, how does that come out to ~$10 per copy?

...actually doing the math it's like $11 less per copy, but it is not "less than $10 a copy". It is $44 normally, I think this makes it not quite that.

I told my brother about this scheme of yours. He is murrypurryfurry he is interested, but banned from your journal. I vouch for is purchasing power. I don't know the details since it was HappyWulf who did the deed of buying and splitting it. He needed each of our Steam names, and then once he put it through I got an email to register it.

It's not actually post-apocalyptic it's space-cowboys. You're exploring a frontier world looking for buried treasure. This frontier world is vaguely post-apocalyptic looking, but I'm pretty sure there's no radioactivity or mutants. The monsters are all natural wildlife from the alien planet. Except the cyborgs.

Everybody refers to it as post-apocalyptic though. It's confusing. ^.^;;
