Last night I had the strangest dream...
Jul. 25th, 2009 05:55 amI dreamt that I was watching a sneak preview of the new Gundam series: "Gundam 00 Tournament Special". The crux of the dream/episode revolved around one of the pilots, a kid with long black hair and a bright red jacket, trying to catch one of his friends in the crowd that forms whenever giant robots fight each other. So he rode a rocket-arm, Mazinger-style, to the space station where people are watching and... Oh no! A match is starting RIGHT NOW! And he's not piloting the robot!
But wait! He's slightly psychic!
So he convinces the robot psychically to jam its one remaining arm into the cockpit and PILOT ITSELF, fighting off the enemy (a thinly disguised Zaku) using only Bruce Lee style kicking action, while watching the whole thing on a giant news video monitor. Unfortunately, every time he starts winning the crowd gets really loud behind him and breaks his concentration, which leads to the robot headbutting an asteroid or kicking itself in the back of the head.
Eventually he lost because of this, and sulkily went off to read a book. Then I woke up.
Man. Shortest Gundam series -ever-.
(Arguably amusing side note: Throughout the dream, the hero's mech was referred to as the "V Gundam". I woke up and the first thing I thought was "That's not the V Gundam, that was more like the GP-02..." Followed instantly by "...ow. How long did I sleep?")
