Higurashi may or may not be continued. I recall it had become a very hard show to watch at the point I had reached. Fate/Stay Night's ending is canceled, but nobody cared anyway. Can't recall what, if anything, else we were running.

Higurashi is... a really, really hard anime to sell. Really, it's polarizing like Lain is, albeit with different quantifiers. You either really like it or really hate it, if you can get through the whole thing.

Those that really hate it tend to find the 4chan'd 4Kids spoof version of it to be hilarious, though. I'M LACTOSE INTOLERAAAAANT!

I -liked- what I saw? But... like... making funny about it is getting increasingly hard when every episode I watch is more "...oh, god. I hope nothing bad happens t... no, it did. It's still happening. Oh, I don't want to see this. Okay, it's ove... no, no, it will never be over apparently. Ever."

So... I'm thinking I won't finish out the series, really. It's just Not For Me.

Yeah.

Even though "I HAVE NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WILL END BADLY." should totally be the translated title. We should change the meaning of Japanese words to make this so.

But yeah. Higurashi is distinctly a psychological horror/thriller series (Like the Haruhi Suzumiya titles, Higu started as light novels before moving to anime) trying to disguise itself as a harem anime in order to lull otaku into its clutches. Apparently things DO eventually get better, but you have to actually LAST that long.

I know what you MEAN by this, but I am finding it hilarious to picture Haruhi as a psychological horror series, given the Extreme Negative Reactions some people I know have to it.

I know next to nothing about Haruhi except what TV Tropes has told me, and thus all I know is that it's basically animated crack. In the "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON" Excel Saga way, not the "MUST HAVE MORE" way.
