I am feeling vaguely ripped off. I wanted to chase her down the hall going "HEY I HAD AN ULCER FOR THIS YOU WANT TO MAYBE CHECK THE BEDROOMS TOO?"

The only thing she cared about was a single smudge on one of the windows, the size of a thumb print, but refused to tell you that so you would have to clean everything. XD

Cleaning is never worth it for its own sake. For one thing, it doesn't last long enough. For another, it's kind of unpleasant to be in an environment where anything you do makes it noticeably dirtier.

I suspect the key is to regard tidying up as a ubiquitous non-event, rather than a dreaded trauma. That in itself is probably easier if it's a neurotic habit you do whenever tiny messes irritate you, rather than a huge chore compelled by external agencies.

Okay, I'm feeling hypocritical now. I'm going to tidy my room. c_C

Eating is the opposite. It *is* worth it for its own sake -- it's pleasurable. In the long term is where it causes problems.
