Computer, final.
Oct. 24th, 2008 10:29 pmIt's here.
It works. It is much larger than 12 pounds, so what the hell, UPS?
The only thing I have thrown at it that it's even -tripped- on, and trust me I've tried, is emulating Final Fantasy 12, so y'know. I can play basically anything made for the PC ever and emulate probably everything up to the tech level of the iMac or Xbox before this thing starts to choke.
It is red, and the lights glow blue, so really it is a sort of gorgeous grape color when I look over to the side.
I feel like this thing ought to be rendering me a Toy Story sequel, not laughing off my video game collection.
I have spent the day disabling Vista's security measures. It is now Windows XP except with a better task manager.

Date: 2008-10-25 01:34 pm (UTC)Geez. I didn't even know there was a PS2 emulating SCENE.
And you guys have two of these babies right? So you can link them together to form a supercomputer!
Regarding Vista though, I had heard that most classic video game system emulators won't work in Vista. ... Do you think you'll have to run the emulator in an emulator?

Date: 2008-10-25 02:09 pm (UTC)On the other hand, with all those resources, you can probably get better-than-normal framerates out of Saturn emulation...
