The quite-excellent
glashund did a meme recently. I decided to go in on it. The instructions were as follows:
1* Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
2* I will respond by asking you 5 questions of a very personal nature.
3* You will update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4* You will include this and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5* When others comment asking to be interviewed you will ask them 5 questions.
1. If you could magic up a high-quality sequel to any one game, on any platform, what would it be, and for what system?
I know people who will lynch me for not saying Skies of Arcadia, but that would be my second choice. I'll also not say "Romancing SaGa 2, remade and in the US" because that'd be predictable of me. I shall also not attempt to slip a reference to my longing for a Jade Empire 2 under the radar.
No, instead I'd actually like to see a sequel to Steve Meretzky's deliciously surreal Superhero League of Hoboken. A lot of superhero conventions have come and gone since that game was made, and the world of parody superheroism and adventure gaming really ought to collide again. I'll take it on the PC or DS, I think.
2. How'd you get caught up in this whole furry thing?
Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs. Back when the Warner Brothers were rampaging free all over the damn place, I was a Young Impressionable Child Version of myself. I found my way to Dalnet IRC's #watertower, where instead of a Warner knockoff or another goofy cartoon animal, I picked a Skippy Squirrel clone... and eventually found my way to Yiffnet IRC, back before people would laugh at you for naming an IRC network "Yiffnet" in (kinda) innocence. That was... geez. Like, 11, 12 years back? Oy...
But, y'know. My first crush was on Flower the skunk from Bambi. I was pre-disposed.
3. If money, language barriers and citizenship were non-issues, where in the world would you most like to live? Bonus points for explanation!
I think I'd like to live in Canada. It's close enough to the north US that I could still be around people I like socially, without being weird and culturally jarring. Second choice would be Australia or Japan, I guess... but I don't know if I could really handle the cultural stigma of being a big fat white beardy guy in Japan.
4. You have science powers. What are they?
I can make an infinity of parallel universes fork off from my every action or lack of action.
5. What websites do you visit on a daily basis, or more? If it's a long list, feel free to leave it at the highlights.
This practically deserves its own post... Heh. Okay.
I tend to hit up Something Positive, Shortpacked, Darths and Droids, and Faux Pas for webcomics, first off. Gaming news is The Magic Box , Evil Avatar but god don't read the comments, Rock Paper Shotgun, Game, Set, Watch and TIG Source . Then it's off to Jay Is Games and Kongregate for Flash games, and Comics Curmudgeon for occasional snark. Oh, and LOLdogs and LOLcats. Plus my LJ friends list and occasional other blogs like Planet I.F. or Engadget.
*pant pant* It's a wonder I do ANYTHING AT ALL.

Date: 2008-09-11 11:23 pm (UTC)1. You've been drawing stuff as long as I've known you. Why? What made you start and (more interestingly) keep doing it?
2. You're big on older, wacky cartoons. What's your favorite in that genre? Why?
3. What's your fondest memory, out of random curiosity?
4. Inversely in a way, is there any (technological or otherwise) advancement that you -regret- that mankind's made? I'm curious about this stuff.
5. ... uh... drawing a blank... favorite food?

Date: 2008-09-11 11:08 pm (UTC)It's nice, but... obtuse, at times. The RPG bit gets in the way of the adventure bit which obstructs the RPG bit, etc. Still... it's fun. You'll need a working knowledge of Dosbox, I think. If you have trouble, post here and I'll try to get it working for you.

Date: 2008-09-11 11:29 pm (UTC)2. You have a laser that will remove one concept entirely from the world. What do you aim it at?
3. ... what's YOUR favorite food? I am completely uncreative.
4. We have a lot of mutual friends. Who should I be introduced to that you don't think I know?
5. What should I have asked you? Er, then answer that.

Date: 2008-09-11 11:35 pm (UTC)1. What websites do YOU visit daily?
2. What sort of thing would you give as a primer to people who do want to know you? You've always seemed interesting to me.
3. What's your favorite usericon (of yours) from, and where'd you get it?
4. What's the worst film you've ever seen?
5. What game that you read about back then have you never played, or would most LIKE to play nowadays?
