Update on the VGA cable thing, for the curious...

Found the adapter on the floor, where it had fallen out of the box.

Felt like a dumbass.

Played with it a while after lunch. Sega Superstar Tennis demo. Rez HD. Space Giraffe. (beat my high score on that, stands at 60k something now.) The 360 is -gorgeous- on a monitor, in high-res, playing 2D shooters and brightly colored fun games. It's like the Dreamcast never went away.

After the VGA cable for the Dreamcast, I was totally converted to VGAness for all games... but never got an adapter for the other consoles. Now I clearly see that I have been a jackass.

(Also: Space Giraffe is gloriously -awesome- on this monitor. My joy in the game just leapt up another notch. Perhaps someday I will get past level 30.)

TENNIS XD XD XD

Yeah, the 360 VGA cable has been my savior. I actually went out and bought a big used 22" monitor just for it.

Oh, and Ikaruga HD comes out tonight (or came out last night, one of the two). Break out that cable again!

I'm pretty awful at Ikaruga, actually. Embarrassingly so. Tried it for a while and never actually beat the first stage.

Do intend to pick up Sega Superstar Tennis. The yay of "You Unlocked: HIT ZOMBIES WITH TENNIS BALLS" in the demo made me do it. (Also your Tennis Week -already- had me interested. Ulala -and- Alex Kidd? C'mon.)

I miss my Dreamcast. Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Phantasy Star Online, Gigawing 2, Ikaruga, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Metropolis Street Racer, Rez, Space Channel 5... Some classic games on that console.
