Well, I thought it was funny!
Jan. 11th, 2008 09:16 pmI've been tinkering with Richard Garriot's "Shoot Things In Space", AKA Tabula Rasa, lately. Three day free trial for the weekend.
How is it? ... eh, awkward, but okay. In the hour or so I tried, anyway.
But I couldn't resist making a familiar face...

What's the matter? CHICKEN?!
I think this proves I am an enormous doof.

(Probably wouldn't work for me, though. Trying to crunch my ears down like that would be really uncomfortable. But there's much to be said for the explorer spirit, ne?)

Date: 2008-01-12 02:56 am (UTC)I usually shy away from creating myself in MMOs and the like, and have avoided Second Life VIOLENTLY.

Date: 2008-01-12 03:05 am (UTC)I've never actually tried any MMORPGs, I admit, though some have seemed like they could be fun. I'm not a huge fan of medieval settings, though, so WoW is limited in its appeal for me, not to mention the constrained choices of species. That's probably one of the factors that's kept me in SL, I think - nothing's pre-canned, but rather, everything's created by anyone, and shared on the fly. Of course, that has horrible costs in processor and bandwidth usage, but so it goes.
Not that I'm huge on superheroes, but CoH/CoV does have that particular emphasis on slinky couture.. ^_^ But that's Windows-only, as I recall. (And even there, I think I'd sooner be Max =:)

Date: 2008-01-12 03:09 am (UTC)I guess there's that. I'm more interested in playing games than making stuff, so SL has no real interesting points to me...

Date: 2008-01-12 03:17 am (UTC)I was in the Tabula Rasa beta test and I was thouroughly disappointed by it. I'm the sort of person that would have liked the first Tabula Rasa.
