Twiddled Perception.
Dec. 18th, 2007 10:04 pmMan. It takes having a slightly altered perception to realize that... you know, the body count on that lighthearted comedy series is -really- high. And that character there has post-traumatic stress disorder -really- bad. And... so on.
It's a weird experience, re-watching your favorite show and crying where you used to laugh. Not really an unpleasant one. It's a nice emotional tension release. It's just... different.
(Man, maybe I oughta stop posting to the journal for a month or so. If this keeps up I'm gonna have to do the color scheme all in black and find some really whiny bands to listen to and get thicker frames on my glasses and maybe move to Iowa.)

"Everything on this show is happening literally, in real time, as Peter's perceptions, with no cuts... including the commercials." Taking a comedy as tragedy, where things actually matter, does sound like an interesting frame break -- especially given how much cruelty-based comedy (some of it very funny!) there is these days.

Date: 2007-12-19 02:35 pm (UTC)A change in perception comes sometimes. Believe me you, I wish I could look at something more than once and get the same response, but my brain fluctuates more often than ...something...very wibbly.
