Lullaby to Nightmare
Dec. 18th, 2007 02:52 amI'm starting to get to the point where I cannot, literally cannot, fall asleep for more than a few hours without a nightmare. I really hope these side effects or whatever wear off soon, because I would like to sleep properly now thank you.
Tonight's run:
- There was a cheat code in Fallout 1 where if you used the grab command to pull yourself halfway onto a ledge and typed control-shift-FUN, you'd get a pop-up window with an easter egg message. This was how I met
relee and
momentrabbit and
otter3, they were mentioned in the message and they all worked on programming Fallout's secret bonus 3D area and I emailed them because they sounded interesting.
... Except not a WORD of that is true, and as I was dreaming it, I was absolutely positive it was overwriting reality and I would wake up and that -would- be how I met them and Fallout 1 would have developed a "grab" command and so on. This was terrifying for some reason.
(Amusing sidenote: It pleases me that as soon as I woke up, I went "That was the ULTIMA 8 engine, not Fallout. What the HELL, subconscious?" Hello, geek sqrl.)
- Tim Allen's head looks alarmingly like an alien spore full of disgusting eggs. For added fun, if you think about this long enough, he cycles through a heavily-dithered EGA pallete while making hideous droning buzzing noises.
- At this point, I dreamt I was asleep and having nightmares. So in the nightmare, I got out of bed and went down the hall to tell the boyfriend to come wake me up. Except I couldn't speak. In an AMAZING tribute to him, he worked out what my desperate gestures and incoherent grunting meant and woke me up. So when I -actually- woke up I went and hugged him, much to his confusion. Not actually a nightmare in the end, but documented for posterity here.
So... yeah. I'm gonna sit up for a while more.

You need one of those Japanese nightmare eating anteater thingies.
Last night I dreamed that my family was flying to B.C. for a vacation, and I was stressed out 'cause I didn't know and didn't have time to pack.
