Playing catch-up.
Today I snapped violently awake from a nightmare in which my father attempted to murder me with a snowshovel because I locked him in a room that looked like Tokyo-3 and called him "Gendo" through the door until he snapped.
I begin to suspect I may possibly have some parental issues. Just little itty-bitty tiny ones.

scans_daily. One of them adorns this entry, for no good reason. Uh... hmm.
I went down to get an ID card that states I do indeed live here in MA, because the last time I applied for a job they wanted one. No luck, though. I have my hospital birth certificate, but this is not actually proof of birth, so I need to get a state birth certificate. Also I need proof of identity, which is what I thought the ID card was for. This requires me to either have a morgage or a loan or a bank account, so I'll be trying to get a bank account with the money from my job...
...oh wait.
Heh. Thus, I'm poking around for jobs that won't require me to be a state resident. This is hard. I have a real respect for drifters now, for people who choose to cut ties with the system and float aimlessly around the country, because it is DAMN HARD to do that. It takes a lot more effort than I realized to play outside the government mandated areas, and I've really got to look more into how to do it.
My usual life continues. My plot to preorder a Nintendo Wii was foiled by the folk at Gamestop who aren't taking preorders yet. Blast them. I've been playing a high-priority preview game for Worthplaying, lounging about online, and doing as little as otherwise I can get away with.
Oh. I also found out what the Mystery Switch is for. We have a lightswitch on one of our walls that doesn't actually seem to do anything. Yesterday the apartment manager stopped by, having traced someone else's heating problem to our apartment. Apparently that switch controls the heating system in one of the apartments upstairs from us. Who knew? That's one mystery of the universe out of the way. Steven Wright would be proud.
Anyway, that's about all that's going on with me lately. I am fairly contented and in high spirits. Things are going GREAT for a change.

I have a MA State ID. As you know it's a glorified photo ID, so if you have any photo id's try using those to prove you are who you say. Especially if you have an MBTA photo ID pass. Or go get your pic snapped for what, 5 bucks? just like for a passport, and have that plastered on the State ID.
(Do you have a passport? That works as a state-recognized photo id in a pinch.)
It's been a while since I applied for mine, I just renw every few years now. I remember it was a pain, though. Good luck!
