I think the hate towards Grandia 2 comes from two places. Namely, its heavy reliance on anime-styled tropes and trappings ("hey, let's kill god!", "that demure, delicate maiden has a hardass bombshell alter-ego", shit like that) and its success leading to Grandia X-Treme.
