So I should mention, before we get rolling, that [profile] ss_ebonclaw very graciously dropped ClaDun X2 my way earlier. I want to thank him for this in the most public way, and to mention that that's now on the list for later. I also want to mention that if YOU want to drop games at me, be they good, bad, horrible, expensive, or cheap, I'll accept them with a minimum of embarrassment and guilt after profusely apologizing to you. I will then thank you here, and likely again when I do my write-up after your game is randomly selected.
We now return to Ireland, where Nancy Drew waits in a phone booth to give her boyfriend Ned a call... )
I think that's enough for tonight.

Several years ago, I posted a post about Borderlands, a first person shooter/Diablo-em-up that had huge slews of randomly generated guns and a strange, sadistic humor theme running through it.

Today I'm here to post about the sequel. Borderlands 1 was ... It was SOLIDLY OKAY, to me. I enjoyed it half as much as I should have but more than I like to admit. The DLC helped. A lot of people LOVED the game, including my woof. According to Steam we've put 40 hours into the thing and that's not counting offline mode where I know we've put in at least another 20 hours.

Borderlands 2 promises more random generation. More random guns. Random grenade mods. Random enhancement pickups. Random game-changing boosters. It promises more colors than brown, red, and redbrown. It promises more enemy variety, and cooler things to fight. It promises a class who can dual-wield any two guns in the game. It promises that if you pre-order you'll get a girl called the Mechromancer, and baby, if ANYONE ON THIS EARTH will, I will put the romance in Mecromancey.

There's trailers and things out there. Hit up Youtube, do research. I'll wait.

Basically it makes a lot of promises! I'm eager to see if they will fulfill those promises, and that's why I'm offering three slots in a four-pack buy-in. $180 divided by four people is $45 each, and I'm pretty much down for making this happen.

Anyone else want in?

UPDATE! We've got our ... quadrio. Quattro. Four... pack. Whatever.

I'd like to ask that the three of you down there in the comments get in touch with me whatever way is handy. You'll be paypal-sending $45 to 'kalenwolf@netzero.com'. All three of you are -already- on my Steam friends list, so that's cool and saves time. To give adequate time, because reality and paychecks and all, I'll ask that you please send along funds by September 14th, four days before the game releases. As soon as it's purchased, I will gift the game via Steam to each of you, since that's... pretty much how it worked last time.

Aside from that... excellent, I'm glad this worked out!
