Speaking of super robots, and I OFTEN do...
What Japanese super robot would you think would get a movie here first? A CGIHollywood movie apparently NOT from Hollywood but instead just backed by two American guys? Why is the internet calling this a Hollywood movie when it isn't?! Rrr.
You might think Mazinger Z, or "Tranzor Z". You might think something newer, like Gurren Lagann or GaoGaiGar. You might remember Marvel's old Shogun Warrior line and think Raideen or Danguard Ace. You might be looking at me like "WTF are you even TALKING ABOUT?"
You are all WRONG.
Behold the teaser: It's Gaiking. Which is about a baseball-playing robot with giant horns on itsstomach head fighting dinosaurs who were mutated by black hole radiation.
Except in this version, it's piloted by a girl, probably doesn't play baseball, is massively less colorful, and is piloted by an elaborate system of levers and pedals. I also think the outer design of the robot is a little too encrusted with random greebles... but THAT DOESN'T MATTER! It still bursts up through the street. It probably still combines elaborately. It still has GIANT HORNS FOR NO RAISIN!
...You know what? I will watch it. I will totally watch it. And good or bad, I will probably fansqrl the fuck OUT over this movie. After all, there are two Gaiking shows already, and I'm pretty sure neither of them has anything to do with the other. Having an elaborate, glossy 3D movie is just a third addition to an unrelated-to-each-other series of shows about HORN HEAD ROBO.
I'm looking forward to this.
