City of ME.

So a conversation I had a couple of days ago went basically like this:

SomeoneElse: "Do you have City of Heroes?"
Sqrl: "Uh, no."
SomeoneElse: "Gee. You should. Hold on, I'm buying it for you."

Which makes the second time in a month that someone nifty has bought gaming material for me. I wish to note that if this trend continues I will WILT AND DIE under a waterfall of pure guilt at exploiting my friends. Stop it.

That said, I am thirty seven flavors of YAY over getting this game. It's a MMORPG, sure, but it's also based around superheroes. I've obtained some webspace, and hopefully the game will be arriving soon, so I can do that thing where I show you all pictures of my characters until heads start blowing up like a festive fireworks display of ultimate doom.

Meanwhile, I'm just gonna, like... post the origin story for my first character here. I understand a lot of people don't write origin stories for each and every character they play. I figure if it's gonna be a comic book game, my character should have a comic book origin.

Also note that this character is a little darker than some I might play. What can I say, a Dark Energy/Super Reflexes melee character deserves a nice dark story opener. Also note the name is subject to change depending on if someone else already has it.

Considerably worse than the previous one...

This is a pretty cruddy bit of writing, IMO, but hey, it IS a comic book origin story. Not that that should be an excuse. No, my excuse is that I've been rolling back and forth in bed trying to get a nap while I wait for the boyfriend to get home, so I can activate my game account.

As such, I present the origin of John Q. Public. Don't choke on the awful or anything.
