YaaaaAAAAaaaauuuugh. Guh.
Nov. 2nd, 2003 10:38 amWell, National Novel Writing Month is underway, and...
....I'm sorta falling flat. I forgot how short my attention span IS. It can be measured in moments where most are measured in minutes. And I'm entirely too pleased with that sentence. Anyway, instead of over 3000 words in two days, I've got about 800. Mind you, I still have a whole day to go before it become 4600 or so. I could maybe manage something.
Let me know, by the way, oh friends of Sqrl, if I should be LJ-cutting excerpts from the thing. I intend to post what I have so far whenever significant progress is made. I warn you: It will be crap.
Here's my outline so far:
Chap 1. - Sanguine plays online game, loses. Reflects on life somewhat. Puts in dinner. Reflects some more, including recently failed relationship with Minerva, causing him to remember to get mail. Goes outside to check it. House explodes. Sanguine v. surprised.
Chap 2. - Sanguine interviewed by police. Surprised to find they don't actually suspect him of anything. Goes to hotel to stay. Orders pizza. Answers knock on door. Gets beaten up by old guy, also exposited at. Sanguine v. surprised. Tempting cryptic revelations. Sanguine runs away, calls Minerva.
Chap 3. - Minerva finds Sanguine at corner, picks him up. Awkward conversation. Arrive back at Minerva's apartment, find Gjenni waiting. Gjenni is blue-haired girl from future with alarmingly large eyes. Confusion ensues. Sanguine v. surprised. Gjenni is alarmingly perky, blurts happy exposition at. Reveals Sanguine is temporally all forked up, is critical junction which decides future of certain reality. Also reveals they don't know what he does to cause said future, so they intend to follow him around and watch him. Oh, and possibly he has to die to make things come out right. Does he think this will be a problem? Sanguine exceptionally goddamn well surprised.
Chap 4. - Road trip!
...yes, this is as far as I've gotten. No, I don't know WHY I'm doing a road trip.
This is kind of fun! Now I just need to stop procrastinating...
