Woof: "When the hell ELSE would they run out of time?"
Sqrl: "A temporal negative space wedgie blew through the arena. They ran out of time at the start of the match."

Yeah, I'm still alive. Been playing a 360 RPG (also for PS3) called Nier. It's the most raw, emotional, emotionally-mature, well-written game I think I've ever played. Feels good. Don't buy it if you like to 100% your games, though.

Aside from that, not a lot going on. Recovering from a heavy depression wave.

Is it depressing-emotionally mature or will you come out of it feeling good eventually, even if you go through a wringer in the middle?

I've gotten the first out of four endings. It was... cheerful enough, actually. Fairly bright, but with a slight bittersweet undercurrent. The game itself has a lot of depressing events... it's a game set 13,000 years after the apocalypse, and humanity not doing well but IS holding on by their fingertips.

The second playthrough has a lot of different events, and a major twist that dramatically recontextualizes the story MERELY BY BEING THERE. I'm not sure it's going to be as happy this time around.

...Oh. If you look into it, and decide to get it? DOn't play it with the kids in the room. Literally the first thing you hear over the "Square-Enix" logo and opening credits is a tirade from one character to another that starts out with "WEISS, YOU DUMBASS!" and gets more emphatically profane from there.

You probably should point out that this is the semi-sequel to Ending E of Drakengard (the one with the giant babies, whose 'mother' ends up jumping from a fantasy realm to Tokyo...) so your levels of mindscrew may vary. :-)

Nobody else has ever HEARD of Drakengard, and it's not really required to know the game.
