Last night I dreamed I was playing a version of Candyland (the board game) that wanted you to roll a random character name, a starting class, and a couple of perks before you started playing.

So I wound up playing Candyland as Gavin $ the biochemist, who was there to reverse-engineer living candy and replicate it in the lab. He got bonuses to riding candy steeds and library skills. The BF's character was Magnificent Mervin the Mighty Manager, who could draw organizational charts in 1/3rd time and got 30 extra candy pieces every time he recycled unused cards.

I don't know what any of that had to do with Candyland because it was still basically Candyland, except it had like five decks of cards to draw from. They were all labeled things like "The Nice Deck", "The Fun Deck", "The Candy Deck", etc. But nobody ever landed on any of the "Draw a Card" spaces. Maybe that would have radically changed things.

I remember vaguely lamenting we didn't buy the Candyland Legacy expansion, but now that I think of what I was describing, that was a board game platformer. ("Crank the disappearing block dial three times.")

I'm just glad my subconscious is working again, I guess. I missed you, weird-ass dreams.

Woof: "I could totally see playing Candyland like that. Whose Line style, where the rules are made up and the points don't matter."
Sqrl: "I'm just depressed Candyland The Board Game Platformer doesn't exist. Turn the vanishing block dial! Vwoop vwoop vwoop aw crap I fell in the ocean."

Yesterday I finished "A Golden Wake" and I'm really not sure how to feel about it.

Anyway the music was nice.
